Michigan Theater in Detroit

The Michigan Theater in Detroit was designed by architects Cornelius and George Rapp. This 4,038 seat venue opened in 1926 and it cost $3.5 million to build. It once hosted legends such as the Marx Brothers, Frank Sinatra, and Louis Armstrong and later, as a rock venue, hosted David Bowie, Aerosmith, Bob Seger, and Iron Butterfly. A rap sequence for the film 8 Mile was filmed here. In 2018, it was the venue for a Mercedes Benz event at the North American International Auto Show. It is now used as a parking garage.
