Pat Metheny at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe

Last night – June 2, 2015 – was a very special evening at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. Pat Metheny, Artist-in-Residence for the 2015 Detroit Jazz Festival, performed at a fundraiser/benefit for the festival. I was pleased to lend my support to this worthy cause and to support jazz in Detroit. Special thanks goes to Gretchen Valade, Mack Avenue Records, Carhartt, and Absopure for financial support of the festival.

I first saw Pat Metheny in Miami in 1983. I brought the ticket stub with me to share with George and Kathleen Hill and others at the event. I have had the pleasure of seeing Pat Metheny at least 10 times and each performance has been stellar.  I cannot wait until Labor Day weekend when Pat and other jazz musicians will take the stage at the Detroit Jazz Festival.
